We are a UK-based company that develops and markets a wide range of ‘Connected Everywhere’ products that are available to many countries across Europe. Our business has evolved from designing and manufacturing devices for many major global customers, to building and marketing a plethora of products under our own IMO brand. www.imomobile.co.uk.

Our products span many categories from mobile handsets and MiFi through to both fixed and wireless routers. While positioning ourselves as an agile innovative challenger brand in the market we pride ourselves on the efforts and resource we invest in quality of delivery, from our manufacturing source to the end consumer.

Meet the team

WU Sa

Managing Director

WU Sa is responsible for the building and running of this energetic company, overseeing business strategy and the building of product portfolio, proposition and business/partner development.

Previously At ZTE, he is credited as a key force in spearheading the company’s breakthrough in the UK and its expansion in Europe. He is also the key driver of the multi-channel strategy, shaping the practice from a white label model to a proposition-led business.

Prior to that, he held product management positions at Orange Business Services and Siemens Optical Fiber Cables.

Wu Sa is a passionate long-distance runner and a competitive tennis player.

Dr Jean-Francois (JF) Fava-Verde

Technology Advisor

JF became an advisor of Verve Connect in early 2015. He has over 30 years’ experience in the telecoms industry, having held senior management positions in Raytheon, Racal and Orange in the US, Australia and Europe.

He is a Lead Technologist at Innovate UK, where he provides thought leadership on digital connectivity, including the Internet of Things and 5G. Prior to joining Innovate UK, JF was Head of Innovation at Orange Business Services, where he managed a collaborative innovation program for Orange’s customers and partners, dealing with digital innovations in health, transportation, finance and other sectors, in areas such as contactless, mobility or the Internet of Things.

In addition to his research activity in the field of history of science and technology, JF is a keen hill walker.

Steve Hudson

Quality Advisor

A Quality Assurance & Social Accountability specialist, Steve joined Verve Connect in an advisory capacity in 2018 supporting all aspects of the Verve Connect quality assurance and industry accreditation program.

Steve enjoyed a 25-year career with Vodafone culminating as Head of Global Device Product Assurance supporting Vodafone’s global device quality & supply chain programme. When Steve left Vodafone he went on to head Q Assure, an experience rich company that have been applying their extensive knowledge of management systems, product development & manufacturing processes to support a select number of clients across very diverse industries

Steve also enjoys a ‘quality’ lifestyle with interests including fast cars and playing his bass trombone, not at the same time of course.

Chris Edwards

Head of Business Development

Chris is responsible for leading and developing the business to ensure it focuses on growing its business in line with market and customer needs.

With extensive international experience in the communications industry, Chris has held senior roles with Vodafone, Tech Data and recently as Liberty Global Vice President, where he was responsible for developing business operations and driving the rollout of mobile capability across Liberty’s European subsidiaries.

Through a deep knowledge of the value chain Chris adds a unique dimension to the team with commercial, marketing and product development expertise that will ensure solid all-round value with our partners.

Chris is a motor sports enthusiast and also enjoys outdoor activities when time allows

Nigel Whitehead

Head of Sales & Propositions

Nigel has over 18 years’ experience in the UK and Ireland telecoms industry, and is responsible for sales and propositions.  Nigel joined the Verve Connect  business in 2016 and he’s knowledge, enthusiasm and versatility has helped develop and build the success of the IMO brand in the UK.
 
Prior to joining Verve Connect he ran Sony Mobile’s Retail and Distribution business, and has also held management roles within Siemens, BenQ and Kondor. The combination of his unique manufacturer, operator, retailer and distributor skillsets gives him a clear understanding of customers’ requirements and what is necessary for mutual success.
 
Nigel enjoys golf, cycling and participating in regular local community based charity challenges.

Stephen Zhang

Head of Product & Sales Operations

Stephen joined Verve Connect in April 2015. His responsibilities include management of product planning and sales operations. He has worked for 12 years in the telecoms industry, specialising in delivering solutions in challenging circumstances and getting the best results for clients and businesses.

Prior to that, he was heading sales and marketing of consumer electronics for ZTE, supplying UK-based network carriers, retailers and distributors with multi-million pound business. He was a seasoned product specialist in China in his earlier professional life.

Stephen enjoys playing football, table tennis and is also a converted golfer.

Sheila Xiaolan Wang

Head of Marketing & Operations

Sheila is responsible for the overall marketing strategy and related activities, including management and building of the Verve Connect and IMO brands, PR, social, digital, and agency relationships.

She has marketing experience from both the in-house and the agency sides. Sheila was previously the key driver of ZTE’s marcoms in the UK and Europe, including branding, PR, advertising, sponsorship deals and sales promotions whilst setting up teams for both B2B and B2C marketing.

Sheila practices yoga regularly, and likes playing badminton and Zumba.
